"...Day in da Life of da Bo$$!.....A little fun; sometimes serious and sometimes hopefully humorous insight into some fun times in life. Most of this will probably be a look into my hobbies; running (most likely will turn into a Marathon BLOG), sports, hanging out with the boys, and random other fun times in life..its meant for some fun and laughs..enjoy!
Well a couple weeks back the lady friend (aka Ape) surprised me with a weekend at the beach with the whole gang...........26 of my best friends all staying in a multi-million dollar mansion on the beach! Here are a few pics that tell some of the story of what is now known as "the Debacle @ IOP"
We always head down to Charleston around my birthday time to see the family and hit up some favorite restaurants, so nothing seemed out of the ordinary! Ape and I spent most of Thursday in downtown Charleston bumming around having a few drinks and figuring out what the weekend would behold. Then it was off to Morgan Creek (one of my favs) for dinner with the family......again nothing out of the ordinary. Until we hit Palm Blvd and teh family started to talk about how cool it would be to own a big house right on the beach and got me talking about "my favorite house"; which unknown to me was rented for the weekend and full of Code Blues and 26 of my best friends! Saturday included an Oyster Roast at the house and every other night included the following; code blues, singing, code blues, dancing, code blues, da Donk's solo, code blues, Kings Cup, code blues, anything that we can think of..............
Then the big surprise Raudy Laudy had flown in from O-H-I-O for the big weekend! This pretty much meant T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
Here is the casa de Debacle that we stayed in....also known as the Mansion on Dunes Blvd
I have many more pictures to tell the full story of the weekend but many are not BLOG appropriate. Be on the lookout if you were in attendance for "the B.O.B. is 30 DVD"!
Many of you probably have no idea who GEB is? Well you have lost out on following the prime years of the man who is probably the greatest distance runner of all-time and probably always will be.
Geb came on the scene back in the mid 90's and proved to be "the man" on the track and in the 5,000 - 10,000m distance. The best memory I have is watching him in person while at the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. My Dad took me down for a 2 week jaunt at the Bob & Todd Distance Running Camp in Atlanta (Bob Kennedy and Todd Williams). During this camp I got to eat, sleep, and enjoy nothing but running! We had morning breakfast with Olympians, mid-morning workouts, then lunch and learns with Olympians, then afternoon workouts, then took part in being fans of all the runners and witnessing the Olympic Trials and Olympics first-hand.
Geb was always a freak of nature when he laced up the shoes. A few runners have been total icons of the sport; Steve "Pre" Prefontaine to American's a legend, AND Haile "GEB" Gebrselassie the legend! GEB has so many medals, wins, and records it's just nuts.
GEB not only said I got this 5,000 - 10,000m deal locked down, he then took on the Half-Marathon and the Marathon. The Marathon icon who holds the world record with a blistering 2:03:59 STELLAR!
Check out the"Journey of GEB: the greatest of All-Time!"
GEB could rule any distance from the 1,500meter to the Marathon! Yesterday, after having fluid in his knee that was present during an MRI on Saturday, retired after having to pull up at mile 16 of the NYC Marathon. I was hoping he could pull off a nice final Marathon victory but it wasn't to be and at 37 GEB now turns the flats over to the young guns!
Great career GEB you will be greatly missed and never another will come along who graces us with the ability and dedication that you did in distance running for over 20 years! Best part is you always were gracious to fans and never ceased to have a huge smile!
Enjoy your time off and thanks for the memories.............the greatest of all-time!
Well since it was recently learned that I did get that coveted spot in the BostonM this coming April. This past week was the last hoorah week for me so I hit the town and we hosted our Annual Halloween Frazer Freak-nic!
The week started with BH and I hitting the ole Neighborhood Night up at the Gin Mill. Both of us were "ridin solo" this week so we figured it was a good time to get some code blues, Monkey Bash, and Shuffleboard accomplished. When we got there out friend "BulletH" quickly served us up some Code Blues and we began to kick off the bar-top games; Drunken Monkey, followed by a relentless round of Monkey Bash. MBash is simply a game where you have to tap-screen and time it all just right so that this crazy monkey guy throws office equipment out of a high-rise building and gets it to fly/bounce the furthest. It quickly came to our attention that some girl named "Katie" had the top score.......not for long my friends and what you see to the right is the result of relentless attempts to leave "WINNERS" at the end of the night.
BH was taking a rough beating at the ole Shuffleboard once again! Seems that I typically own Mr. Heth and the one known as Jorge Bulgaria Turtzo when they try to compete on the S-board! BH was struggling so bad he decided to do some Keg Lifts!
After this our friend BH did come back to beat me in a shortened game due to our running out of $1 bills. This is where the night concluded and we departed winners of about everything we attempted. Only to be revisited this week at the 3rd round of "Gin Mill Neighborhood Night"! When Ape finally touched back down in the Queen City it was time to begin preparations for the Annual Frazer Freak-nic!" Halloween party at the house on Saturday. After many attempts over the years to grow a full-on-beard.........it's just not possible. Yet, my costume called for a pretty dang suhweet beard and some crazy hair. It's was time for "Operation the Snuggler" so I went out in the world via the "world-wide-web" and found the garb I needed. The night started off as "the Snuggler" and then turned to "ZachG from the Hangover" as you can see. The night ended with a fire-pit session and many headache wake up's the net morning at "da Boss' Crib".
After a week of fun it is now time to kick the training into high gear and start logging miles, while laying off the Code Blues. Although hey everyone has to have their cheat night(s) every once in awhile. Heck especially if they are burning the calorie/carb count I will be.
