Down go the Pins!

Last night we got back into routine in the ole Queen City. After a day of working out and getting the yard look ship-shape; Ape and I headed to our favorite dive the Gin Mill for a pre-dinner "beertail" (the better tasting cousin of cocktail) and saw some of the gang up there before heading to dinner at the ole reliable East Blvd Bar & Grill.

After dinner we adventured over to AMF Centennial Lanes on South/Woodlawn so I could lay the smack down on the lanes. Here are a few action shots with the FlipVid for your enjoyment;

End of the Year Victory and back to the Training Regimen!

Hey from back in the Queen City folks! Florida was a blast and see G&G was the best!

We got back last night just in time to see the big closer........Monday Night Football. Although the game didn't work out as planned (was pulling for the Vikes) yours truly did pull out the Championship aka Supabowl of Fantasy League Football. Earlier this year the one known as BHeth (notice how he cheated and still didn't place in the final rankings) rigged a draft and I forgot to be on during it, so I got the auto-pick players and pretty much sat back and enjoyed the ride of smooth sailing to be the CHAMP!

"da Boss Major" took the crown home last night. Going into last night I was 4 points down to Chaka (aka AHowe) but had some crown jewels still to take their start (AP, Shiancoe, #69 JAllen) thus assuring me a victory. I would like to thank my sponsor "Coors Light" (see sponsorship logo above" as well as all of my dedicated players on the team!

Today was also a kick back to reality as I got back in the grind with my training regimen at Fitness Together. I hit the workout early morning for some weight training. Still not back at lacing up the running shoes, the cold weather-to hot weather-back to cold weather change up was not good for the old sinus infection and now I do believe its worse.

Not to worry my friends as I am resting up and prepping for the arrival of Sheezy for the pure NYE debacle that will take place at the local watering hole; the Gin Mill!

Everyone enjoy your last few days of '09!

Our Last Night in Florida.......Christmas 09 comes to an End!

Our last night with G&G at Hadfield Greene at the Meadows Country Club in Sarasota, Fl.

Well in "true (flip-flopper -(1st) the 2000 Presidential Election and (2nd) the states Football coaches) Florida" fashion, last night we all decided to "resign" from dinner tonight; yet after 24 hours of thought and "recounting our chads" we decided we would just take a slight "leave of absence" and go to a late dinner.

(*footnotes: Bush aka "W" we are very glad you won and Urban we do hope you are ok!)

Nonetheless we did go to the Tommy Bahama Cafe tonight at St. Armand's Circle for a wonderful night of cocktails and dinner on our last night in Sarasota.

We enjoyed some "Tommy Hurricanes" then some " Tommy Fish Taco's" while enjoying the true Tommy Bahama essence surroundings.........basically a make-up of Marlin decor, Bamboo, and true Island feel set-up.

As we were leaving Ape & I were approached by the local TV station (abc7) and asked to be on live local TV at 11pm tonight and the "sunrise" shows in the morning......we were interviewed and asked to give a quick line on what our New Years Eve wishes are;

We fly back tomorrow to the Queen City to re-embark on the cold weather and to rejuvenate the human batteries for a New Years Eve Bash @ the Gin Mill with "the ones known as SHEEZY and B-Dawg".........Charlotte get ready!

Also a few quotes of the night from my grandparents;

Gram: "I have tested the car at 22 miles per hour over the speed humps when no one is around. The Cadillac does great over those things that fast."

Gramps: "You said you know someone whose name is no-no; well I knew a girl once and she told me to call her yes-yes!"

Hey...............We'll See Ya!

Christmas in mid 70's weather!

Merry Christmas folks!

(*from left-to-right); Gramps, Gram, Ape, Me)

It's been a great day here in sunny Sarasota, Florida. This morning Ape & I went for a run through the jungle trails here at the Meadows Country Club area. I warmed up with Ape for about 1/2 a mile then took off for 3 easy miles on my own in the morning rain before catching back up with Ape and hitting the golf course mile loop as we head home. All together we hit up about 4 miles! It was a nice relaxing Christmas morning with my wife and grandparents.

Time: 30:24
Miles: 4.02
Pace: 7:33

We then just told stories, watched a daytime movie and then enjoyed a nice dinner with family and friends. Tomorrow will bring about another day of golf with the guys and then a dinner with Ape's family friends who live up in Bradenton.

We hope each of you had a blessed Christmas with family, friends, pets...whoever!

Christmas Eve & TommyB Cafe'

Merry Christmas Eve from Florida folks!

It's been a great few days thus far, not so much on the golf course, but the relaxation factor is stellar. It's been on average mid-to-high 70's here allowing shorts, polos, sandals and a few days for some great runs outside. Ape's been working out big time in the mornings and then living the big life bumming around with Gram. Gramps and I have been golfing it up and tracking down alligators all over as they are everywhere this year.

*footnote (please correct comment made in video):
Gramps is up 2-0 on me on the golf course after we did a look over the scorecards today...somethings never change

This evening we hit the Tommy Bahama Cafe' @ St. Armand's Circle (photo below of the bar; a little piece of heaven for me) only after we did some shopping at the new Tommy Bahama store right up the block.

Big Bob v Lil Bob Warm-Up.......plus Ape lettin the BIG Dog Eat!

Well Folks we arrived in sunny Florida today for our week long Early Retirement Trip with G&G (Gram & Gramps for those not in the loop).

After a nice lunch at the Country Club; Gramps, Ape, & I ventured out to hit some balls at the range in preparation for the "Big Bob v Lil Bob" golf challenge that will span the full week.

Ape decided to join the "Tiger Woods; Let the BIG Dog Eat Competition" oddly enough she only wanted to hit the driver. (*rest assured I did keep an eye on her as to make sure Tiger didn't show up and attempt to talk her into being one of his "transgressions").

After watching the ball go about the distance of Shaq's left foot I decided to go ahead and show her how "da BOSS" plays ball.......notice how Ape still sweats me (wait for the comment)........

Enjoy......more to come on our week of Retirement in Florida with my grandparents!

Off to FLO Rida.......Sarasota!

Well Ape and I are off to Sarasota to see G&G!

We leave today and will return to the Queen City just in time for the big Gin Mill NYE Bash!

The next week should have some great stuff; golf, warm weather, running updates, etc.

Catch ya down south!
