Round 2: Interview.........I'm a Team CYCLEKids Member....it's Official!

Well as of this morning it became official news!

TEAM CYCLEKids 2011: at 9:30am on the dot I got a callback from CYCLEKids, Inc and Rebekah informed me I made the cut. I am now an official CYCLEKids, Inc. Team Member for the 2011 Boston Marathon.

Of course this now changes my entire training approach, as recently it's been between 30-40 miles per week and now that will have to pretty much double within 3-4 weeks before crunch time with the 4 month pre-M approach!

The plan is to use November to build up the mileage. Lately my pacing has gone pretty well, nothing stellar, but able to keep a decent pace for the 3-6 mile range. I have always been a LSD runner of sorts, never one who set his goals to win anything at race time. I have always set out to enjoy the race, enjoy the scenery, enjoy the fanfare, and overall just enjoy being out on the roads logging miles. So November will be the "November Notable" (as in Notable Build-Up).

December, January, February; will be the "Three Amigos" which will consist of playing around the 3 Marathon Training Programs I have used in the past, yet this time instituting concepts from all 3 programs.....in hopes they all get along like "Three Amigos" and give me the build-up and maintain I want to accomplish.
Then comes March and early April which will give me my key 4-6 week approach to the big day! This weekend I will finalize all the training plans and put them into the training software that feeds to "BIG Geezy" (aka my Garmin).

For now, it's time to build up the new BostonM: Run for the Kids BLOG and get the fundraising site online so I can begin my approach to the $2,500 needed by 1/10/11 and furthermore the $5,000 goal I have set for myself personally by 4/18/11.

Please take some time to visit the new BLOG: BostonM: Run for the Kids
*here you will be able to follow all my training, fundraising, events, etc.

Also you can link to the B.O.B. Fundraising Page by heading over to a Razoo:
*here you can see a bit more in-depth as to what CYCLEKids, Inc. does and also follow my progression towards my charity fundraising and donor goals.

To those that have followed the B.L.O.G. of the B.O.B.....no worries this will stay updated as well with other events "da BOSS" has going on!

Round 1: Interveiw with CYCLE Kids, Inc.

Well folks it's been a crazy week. Ape was traveling in Europe all week, then she's off to Canada this coming week, then the West Coast the week after that. So I have been running around doing a a lot of stuff to keep everything even keeled around here as she is only home for a couple days over the weekend(s).

Yet it was a big week here in the Queen City (the home front) for me as I had the Round 1: CYCLE Kids, Inc. Interview on Friday from 3:30pm-4:00pm. I got to speak with the founder Julianne Idlet and Rebekah Mueller the event organizer and director. What a great group of folks they have at the home office in Boston, MA. They have some awesome stuff they are doing and they have a great future outlook for expanding.

Round 2: Follow-Up Interview is set up for Tuesday morning.....then soon I hope to get the go ahead from the CYCLE Kids, Inc. folks and then it's time to fund-raise like crazy! The goals I have set our high, but the mission is awesome!

More to come soon.......go check 'em out CYCLE KIDS, Inc.

Back-toBack Wedding Weekends Begin....

Well this past weekend was pretty sweet; Friday I got to hit the Rose with Chad "da Donk" York, then Saturday FSU won, Florida lost, Bama went down and I got to hit a wedding and enjoy
complimentary Code Blue's, only downer was Sunday (but was expected)...the Panthers lost due to an inept owner and manager.......the worst part is that Shadow lost his job due to a bunch of overpaid peewee league players, coaches, managers, and ownership. Hey Panthers how about spend some money and build a team for a change!

This past weekend a great family friend got hitched. The whole family was ready for some fun and help take part in the big day! Congratulations to Elaine and Ryan! Check out what happens when a wedding reception, great food, Code Blues, a Photo Booth, and rePrints happen....

*on the left "da Boss and Boss' Lady"...on the right "Pops, Bets, da Boss and Boss' Lady"

Now time to rest up and head to the Chapman (aka the Damn Champs) Wedding this coming weekend! Here I come C-Lover.........you will never be the same!
