The Adventures of...................Good News, Fun Times, P4S @ Rush's & the Hobo Shop!

So folks the past two days have been busy, lots of burning up the road; Charlotte to Greenville, Greenville to Columbia, Columbia back to Greenville, Greenville back to Charlotte. A total of 490 miles in less than 24 hours.

Lots of traveling but nonetheless great news from the docs in Columbia, as after 6 + months of docs, hospitals, radiation and so on; Mom is 100% cancer free now and we will continue to keep an eye on things to make sure it remains that way. Great news!

We did have a nice adventure on the way home as I-385 Northbound; between Columbia and Greenville is closed for the bulk of 2010 as they repave and re-route. The highlight of the supposed "self-made Detour" was a small party store located right outside Clinton, SC as we headed towards Laurens, SC;

*footnote: I guess that's Happy in the top pic?

All-in-all it was a great time to hang with my sister on Thursday night, as we decided to make a quick run by "Sonic" for Happy Hour drinks and Apple Sac's. Then we hit up "Logans Roadhouse" for the earlybidrd (4:45pm) dinner before heading off to a dive in Mauldin called "the Sports Pub" while having the distinct honor of meeting an English man (Richard) who takes pride in owning what he calls a "redneck truck" which supposedly he bought from a local mexican man. Then Bethy and I got whipped in darts twice in a row by the local boys duo. Then came the fastest late 40's runner in the southeast; BryanY "SQ Look-alike" who will be gracing the Boston Marathon with his presence in April.

Then we hit the road bright and early to head to Columbia with Mom for some good news! Thanks to all those who have sent their thoughts and prayers her way; today was a great news day and we appreciate it.

Oh yeah........I did have a weak moment after my 4 months of no Burgers & Fries at "Rush's" the world renowned dive in Columbia..........check it out if you are ever around.

I might have nixed the diet for the first time; but as we decided we kept "P4S" alive again as we "PiggedOut 4 Shane" as this was one of his favorites.......I even recollect Bethy telling me about a time when he had her pick him up a burger there and drive it back 2 hours for him to indulge.....now folks that's dedication!
