Standups on Standups!

So in life typically when your friends move away they are gone, you only get to chill when the physically come back to town or you go visit them.

Well "the DUO" from the Life & Times of Viper & Supaman doesn't work like that, we figured out a solution................BAM! Standups on Standups!

Supaman leaves tomorrow evening and heads out to Denver, CO to show his hand at Culinary Nutrition for a few years. Last night we had a going away party for the big guy at Ed's Tavern.

We figured that between us we have too many annual events that we both need to be at. I mean honestly we invented a holiday, we started a cycling team, we basically pretty much keep everyone laughing...............so I keep Supaman's Standup here AND he takes me to Denver, CO.

It's basically a life-sized "flat Stanley"!

Pretty dang sweet if I do say so myself!

Finally some SPEED & the Classic PRE!

Miles: 3.0
Time: 19:43
Pace: 6:34

Today was a quick run due to the weather and some other commitments. Nonetheless the mid-6's pace was pleasing. Now that I have gotten myself back into the 5k (6:00's) after a few more weeks of this it will be off to the speedwork and hill training to begin to strengthen the legs (left leg most importantly). I never noticed how long it takes to get the strength back in one extremity once you have injured it and then slacked off in the so-called "comeback" in the making.

No worries though, I have one goal in mind and a 30+ week training program to get me there; "Get as Dang close as I can to B-Town Qualifying!"

That's the dream...........now to put in the work to accomplish it............we'll see!
For those who love the classics: check out these Nike PRE remakes..........pretty suhweet Dawg Covers if I do say so!

The 200K Club & B2W Weekend!

Sorry for the delayed post here, but this past weekend was so unreal temp wise it was time to hit up the outdoors!

Friday started off great with a morning run of 3 miles, then a pushed back FT Session, and finally a mid-day hill workout at McAlpine with R-Teezy! The first two legs of this back-to-back tri-fecta, went great..........it was that last "HILL" workout that about did the legs in.

The big news of the day RT and I hit the 200K club on our way to the post-workout Ed's Tavern lunch! Now if I could only join that club as it references how many miles I put in each year.........that'd be an accomplishment.

After the ALL morning training session, it was time to get the yard
spic-n-span, was the whip, and get
ready for a weekend of B2W - "Balls 2 da Wall". Bethy and Clubs got to town mid-afternoon on Saturday and the girls headed out to the BEP show. Meanwhile I partook in a few Code Blues at the house then hit the local watering hole the Gin Mill; before making a stop at Ed for The First Call Kings Show and then closing the night with a visit to Waffle Heezy to see O'Doyle!

For your viewing pleasure we put together a markting poster for the B2W;

Rules are Made to be Broken!

Yesterday I hit up a trifecta! It was a long/slow day but did log some good mid-week mileage!

Miles: 3.2 Miles/8Miles
Time: 23:40/62:47
Pace: 7:23/7:51

Total Miles: 11.2
Total Time: 86:27 (1:26:27)
Overall Pace: 7:43

Started the morning off with a run, then session at FT, then a long run while catching up on ole ESPN and the Olympics.

As I was "dreadmilling" away I noticed a sign in front of me, an attempt to limit my fitness to 30 minutes. What? So as I always do, I didn't let the man hold me down....."I Pity the Fool";

V-Day 2010...as in Victory at Daytona (oh and Valentines Day)!

Sunday was a long day for us NASCAR lovers. ...the dang track in Daytona just wouldn't work with the schedule. Yet, after NASCAR making sure they fixed it just enough to get ALL the laps in Chip Gannasi pulled out a great victory with their driver Jamie McMurray. I remember a few years back ole Jamie filled in for the #40 Silver Bullet Sterling Marlin.........he was the man behind the wheel of the Coors Light machine.

So congratulations to Jamie Mac! But look in your rear-view JR baby; great start to the season for the #88.........let's keep it up!

After the race is was time to head off to the big Double-Deezy @ Ed's Tavern. Yes folks, nothing but the best for the woman in my life.......VDay @ Ed's for $1.50 Coors Light and Rack of Ribs. We were joined by "noneotherthan" Supaman and Jennie;

Supaman is soon to move to Denver, CO which is pretty saddening honestly, but you can follow the journeys of Supman and Viper on our joint BLOG: The Life & Times of Viper & Supaman.... go check it out.

And the Answer is..........Dang Right We Do!

Looks like folks are finally realizing what we had for 8 years.......da man! As I shed light on a few weeks ago when a poster front was emailed to me, this is exactly how many of us smart folks feel.

This billboard picture was taken on Interstate 35 in Wyoming, Minnesota. From what I've learned about it a group of small business owners took out the ad. I guess they, like many other (and me), are a little sick of the supposed (B.S.) "stimulation" that JOkeBAMA keeps referencing in regards to keeping the small business economy going.

*Note: for more details please visit my hometown paper's website Charlotte Observer: Bush Billboard in Minnesota; Miss Me Yet?

Gotta love it! Also, once I again I concur the answer to the question pictured above is ......"Dang Right We Do!" Go W!

2 Legs of a Sprint-Tri , A Stop at the Watering Hole, VDay Extravaganza Confirmed!

Miles (cycling): 17.2

Monday Run;
Miles: 4.2
Time: 29:42
Pace: 7:04

Well today was a nice 50 degree Monday....Monday after a nice NFC win in the Superbowl!

My amigo "Supaman" was off work today, so we decided to hit it up with an all day "Boss' Day on the Town" since he will soon be moving to Denver, CO. We decided to attempt a nice early afternoon bike ride to commerate the ole Team Wanzites;

Mid-day though we hit up "OBD" (Owens Bagel Deli) for a "Federline" (pictured above);

Then after a treacherous ride back to the crib it was time for me to hit up a nice 4 miler down to Ed's Tavern where "Supaman" met me for a few "Code Blues" and some Calypso Wings to top the day off.

After a few of these beautiful Blue Mountain beverages we came up with a sick Double-Deezy for V-day! More info to come.................all you get for now is knowing that it will be off the chain!

Bethy's 25th Birthday Celebration!

Last night we hit the town after Bethy got in from SC. First we headed to Yen's Chinese to enjoy some an array of dishes and to find out which "Chinese Zodiac's" each of us were, in the midst I found out I was a Monkey; (more to come on this....soon)

Afterwords we headed over to our favorite watering hole for some replenishment of Code Blue (for the crew) and Diet Coke (for Bethy). We were served by our good friend C-Money

Then we were enthralled with the dart competition. Team BB (Bob & Beth) played fiercely to take down Team JA (Jason & Ape), after 2 losses we decided a two-team competition was not our cup of tea; we then requested a three-team competition. So the team breakdown then became Team BB (Bob & Beth), Team JA (Jason & Ape), and Team TJ (Tyler & Jen). After a long round in which Team BB closed everything out except the last Bulls Eye; Team JA and Team TJ caught up (after which JenBarr debated all in how much she disliked darts, then hit two Bulls) after some struggles at the Bulls. Then the shot of the night; the one who is vertically challenged (Ape) hit that bad boy smack in the middle.....for the WIN.....BULLS! Yet another defeat for me and my sis.....but next time the outcome will be different.

Happy Birthday Bethy!

Starting Feb off with the "Dreadmill" but ESPN was a win!

Miles: 5 Miles
Time: 37:13
Pace: 7:27

The only positive to a "Dreadmill Run" = ESPN!

*look closely for the "Right Now" ESPN Alert on the LCD bad boy!

Sometimes you just don't have the time to venture out on the roads and you have to suck it up and hit the ole "Dreadmill". Today was one of those days, so I ventured over the the "Invetment Property" and hit up a 5 miler on the ole "mill". Yet there are always positives to the running in place scheme........ESPN baby! 5 miles to catch-up on the world of sports....not too bad!

After learning enough about the boring sports of basketball (both NBA and college) and a bit about the Superbowl (the same things that we have heard for over a week now)...........I said "PEACE OUT!" to the "Dreadmill".

.....tomorrow it's back to the FitnessT and time to celebrate my sister Bethy's Birthday! First it's off to Yen's for some Chinese and then Gin Mill & Ed's here we come!
